AMD new six core processors Opteron
In June company AMD announced the arrival of the first Opteron processor with six cores, which are equipped with core Istanbul made with 45-nano-meter technology. AMD has offered for sale
two processors Opteron with six cores type 2400: Opteron 2431 which converts data with frequency of 2.60 Ghz and Opteron 2427 with frequency of 2.20 GHz. Because of the popularity of the new AMD
processor the company offered to sell three more six sore models for dual system and two models for four and eight processor systems.
New six core processors for dual Opteron systems are 2439 SE (2.8 GHz, and consume 105 watts of electric power), 2425 HE (2.1 GHz and 55 watts) and 2423 HE (2.0 GHz and 55 watts). Four and eight processor systems will be equipped with model 8439 SE (2.8 GHz and 105 watts) and the 8425 HE (2.1 GHz and 55 watts).
AMD claims that their new processors offer up to 18 percent more capacity at one watt of electrical power compared to the previous generation of four core Opteron processors.
